This webinar is intended to help Ohio public-owned, public-use airports understand opportunities to dispose of Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF) containing PFAS. This is the second round of funding made available through Ohio EPA.
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is launching a second round of AFFF collection and destruction. While AFFF is a critical tool for airports and fire departments in battling flammable liquid fires, it comes with an environmental risk. AFFF contains high concentrations of PFAS compounds, also known as "forever" chemicals, which resist natural degradation and can contaminate our water, soil, and air.
We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to safely and responsibly dispose of your AFFF stockpiles at no cost.
Important: Registration is required before collection can be scheduled.
Information needed for AFFF material registration (if known):
Eligible entities include local fire departments, emergency management agencies, and public-owned airports.
